All artists have portfolios on this website, on our Facebook page (Bushido Tattoo) and hard copies of their portfolios in the shop. At any time you can take a look at these portfolios and see if one of our artists appeals to you. If you come into the shop in person with your reference material or email your reference material to email@example.com, the Bushido reception team can recommend an artist that will best suit the tattoo design you are wanting.
Will I get to see my tattoo before my appointment?
Your design and ideas will be discussed during your initial consult with your artist. You will see the final design the day of your tattoo appointment. Any minor changes will be made at that time. If you decide to make changes from the original idea discussed with your artist, please contact them at least 72 hours PRIOR to your appointment so they have enough time to revise the design if necessary.
How soon can I get in to have a tattoo at Bushido?
This varies. All artist schedules are different. Some artists can accommodate small tattoos within a week, other artists are booked months in advance. The Bushido reception team can advise you of each artists schedule at the time of booking and we will do our best to get you your appointment as soon as your artist is available.
Can I cancel my appointment?
You may cancel your tattoo appointment if absolutely necessary; however, Bushido has a non-refundable deposit policy so if you cancel an appointment or do not show up for an appointment you will lose your full deposit amount. If you give Bushido at least 72 hours notice you may reschedule your appointment to another date, time and/or artist. As Bushido is closed Sunday and Monday, notice must be made prior to 4 PM on Saturday to reschedule/cancel any beginning of the week appointments for the upcoming week.

Can I bring my child to the tattoo appointment?
You can bring your child to the shop for your tattoo consult, but unfortunately children are not allowed in the shop during your actual tattoo appointment. We find that children become distracting to the artists and other clients, so we ask that you please make other arrangements for your child on the day of your appointment. As we are a tattoo shop; children may also witness and hear 'things' that may not be age appropriate!
Do you accept Interac, Visa/ Mastercard or a cheque as forms of payment for my tattoo?
No. Bushido accepts only cash as a form of payment.
Do you have an ATM?
We do not have an ATM inside the shop. There are several located inside the Elbow River Casino just across the street. Although we suggest stopping at your bank prior to your appointment.
Do you accept walk-ins?
If time is available the artists at Bushido will accept walk-ins, although we can never guarantee availability. Sometimes artists finish early or have an appointment not show up, then we can accommodate a walk-in appointment. Walk-in appointments need to be smaller less detailed tattoos (a half sleeve would not be considered as a walk-in appointment). You will need to have your reference exactly ready for the artist. Walk-ins cannot be booked over the phone and they are based on artist availability. If you are looking for a walk-in appointment it is best to come down to the shop early in the day. The artist may recommend that you book an appointment as opposed to doing a walk-in tattoo. If an artist can take their time and prepare properly for your appointment, you will get a much better tattoo!
What do I have to do before my tattoo appointment?
Bushido recommends that you eat before coming to your tattoo appointment and that you are hydrated. You may bring food and beverages to your appointment. Please bring an extra copy of your reference material. We will not tattoo anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We will not tattoo you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Does getting a tattoo hurt?
All tattoos hurt to some degree. Each person has a different opinion on how much a tattoo hurts and which spot on the body hurts the most to be tattooed. Many people have multiple tattoos so they can’t be all that bad!
Do you do touch ups?
Yes. After getting your tattoo at Bushido you will be given healing instructions from your artist. Follow these instructions and hopefully you will not need a touch-up. If you do, Bushido offers one free touch-up appointment per tattoo within one year of your final tattoo appointment.
Can I go in the sun after I get tattooed?
No. The sun is not a friend of your nice fresh tattoo. Nothing will fade a tattoo faster than sunlight. Severe sun exposure can also burn, blister and pull the color right out of your tattoo. Bushido recommends covering your new or existing tattoo when in the sun with clothing or sunscreen.
Can I go swimming after I get tattooed?
Bushido recommends you do not submerge your tattoo in water (with the exception of showering) until your tattoo is fully healed. The drier a tattoo can be kept, the faster and better it will heal.
How long will it take for my tattoo to heal?
On average a new tattoo takes approximately 2-4 weeks to fully heal. During the healing period a new tattoo may itch, crack and become very dry. Please follow the aftercare instructions given to you by your artist and the receptionist to ensure the best healing possible.
