How do I book a consultation?
You can email the shop directly to book a consultation with the artist of your choice. If you are unsure of which artist is best suited for your design, please email your reference images and ideas, and our Artist Assistant Erin can recommend an artist to you.
How do I book a tattoo appointment?
All tattoo appointments at Bushido need to be booked via email. We do not book tattoo appointments over the phone. Please email us and attach any reference material you have. Our Artist Assistant will assist you to book with the artist of your choice, and we will book you for the appropriate amount of time needed to complete your tattoo. At the time of your booking a general quote will be given for the total cost of your tattoo.
Can I book an appointment if I live out of town?
Yes. Please send us a detailed email message describing the tattoo idea you have mind and which artist you would like to book with. Please include any reference images in your email. When you are ready to book an appointment, we will confirm an artist, date and time for the appointment. You will be required to send a “non-refundable” deposit to Bushido via Paypal or through an email money transfer to confirm your appointment.
Do I have to leave a deposit when I book an appointment? Yes. All tattoo appointments at Bushido require a non-refundable deposit to be given. Deposits range from a minimum of $100.00 up to $400.00 depending on the length of your tattoo appointment. For example, if you book a full day appointment a $400.00 deposit is required. The deposit will come off the end total of your finished tattoo. A deposit is required to hold your appointment and to initiate the drawing of your tattoo.
What do you charge?
Unless an artist gives a set quote for your piece, the charges are as follows: Doug Fink $260+tax/hr (3 hr min charge). Riley Hogan $220+tax/hr Will Yee $200+ tax/hr Ashla K $200+tax/hr Malinda GG $190+tax/hr Cale Kristel $190+tax/hr
What if I don’t know which artist to book with?
The most recent work from the artists can be found in the Artist Gallery on this website via Instagram (IG), Under the highlights on our IG, their personal IG pages, or our Facebook page (Bushido Tattoo) Email the shop with your reference material and our Artist Assistant Erin can recommend an artist that will best suit the tattoo design you are interested in.
Will I get to see my tattoo before my appointment?
Your design and ideas will be discussed during your initial consult with your artist. You will see the final design the day of your tattoo appointment. Any minor changes will be made at that time. If you decide to make changes from the original idea discussed with your artist, please contact them at least 72 hours PRIOR to your appointment so they have enough time to revise the design if necessary.
How soon can I get in to have a tattoo at Bushido?
This varies between the artists. All artists have varied availability. Our Artist Assistant can advise you of each artists schedule at the time of booking, and we will do our best to get you your appointment as soon as your artist is available.
Can I cancel my appointment?
You may cancel your tattoo appointment if absolutely necessary; however, Bushido has a non-refundable depositpolicy so if you last minute cancel an appointment or do not show up for an appointment you will lose your full deposit amount. If you give Bushido at least 72 hours notice, you may reschedule your appointment to another date, and your deposit will transfer to the new appointment date. As Bushido is closed Sunday and Monday, notice must be made prior to 4 PM on Saturday to reschedule/cancel any beginning of the week appointments for the upcoming week.
Can I bring my own music?
Yes of course. Please use a personal listening device and headphones to respect the artists as well as other clients tattoo experience.
Can I bring a friend?
Sorry, we do not allow friends/family in the tattoo area.
Can I bring my child to the tattoo appointment?
You can bring your child to the shop for your tattoo consult, but sorry, children are not allowed in the shop during your actual tattoo appointment, so we ask that you please make other arrangements for your child on the day of your appointment.
Do you accept Interac, Visa/ Mastercard or a cheque as forms of payment for my tattoo?
Sorry no. Bushido accepts cash only.
Do you have an ATM?
We do not have an ATM inside the shop. There are several located inside the Elbow River Casino just across the street. Although we suggest stopping at your bank prior to your appointment.
Do you accept walk-ins?
All artist are booked in advance, so we do not do walk-ins.
What do I have to do before my tattoo appointment?
Bushido recommends that you eat before coming to your tattoo appointment and that you are hydrated. You may bring a snack or beverages to your appointment.
Please bring an extra copy of your reference material. We will not tattoo anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Please be comfortable, and choose clothing appropriate for the area you will be tattooed.
We will not tattoo you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are feeling unwell, please contact your artist to reschedule your appointment. Masks are also provided at the shop if needed.
Does getting a tattoo hurt?
All tattoos hurt to some degree. Each person has a different opinion on how much a tattoo hurts, and which spot on the body hurts the most to be tattooed. Many people have multiple tattoos so they can’t be all that bad!
Do you do touch ups?
Yes. After getting your tattoo at Bushido you will be given healing instructions from your artist. Follow these instructions and hopefully you will not need a touch-up. If you do, Bushido offers one free touch-up appointment per tattoo within one year of your final tattoo appointment.
Can I go in the sun after I get tattooed?
No. The sun is not a friend of your nice fresh tattoo. Nothing will fade a tattoo faster than sunlight. Severe sun exposure can also burn, blister and pull the color right out of your tattoo. Bushido recommends covering your new or existing tattoo when in the sun with clothing or sunscreen.
Can I go swimming after I get tattooed?
Bushido recommends you do not submerge your tattoo in water (with the exception of showering) until your tattoo is fully healed. The drier a tattoo can be kept, the faster and better it will heal.
How long will it take for my tattoo to heal?
On average a new tattoo takes approximately 2-4 weeks to fully heal. During the healing period a new tattoo may itch, crack and become very dry. Please follow the aftercare instructions given to you by your artist and the receptionist to ensure the best healing possible.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes. Bushido sells gift certificates in any denomination you like. Please email the shop to set up a time to stop by.
Do you have merchandise for sale?
Yes. Bushido sells a variety of shirts for both men and women. Well have cool stickers for sale as well. Some artists also carry their own line of t-shirts and art prints that are available at the shop, or through links on their social media pages
